Brown fabric may seem a little bit boring, but it does have its place in home decor. It can be a neutral or just the piece that really grounds your entire room. Whether you are making items for your home yourself or you just want to buy premade items here are a few ideas for decorating with this kind of material.

Bring in subtle print or details. This can still be sophisticated and traditional. This is important because you don't want your space to end up looking boring, planned or cheap. This isn’t really much of an issue if you have a suede fabric or some thing else with texture such as leather. These pieces will really have an air of elegance on their own. However, if you are going for a basic cotton fabric that you really need to make sure that there is something interesting about it. For instance you could find a tone on tone print or some where certain of the threads are shinier than the others. This could be full of scroll work to have a natural and more elegant feeling. You could use this on a couch or curtains. Plus, it is still neutral enough that you'll be able to mix and match it with all the other fabrics that you have going on in your space.

Don't be afraid to really make this fabric kind of modern. Chocolate brown is one of the biggest colors in the interior design world that has almost really taken the place of black. This really ties in with all the wood tones. For contemporary rooms usually the fabric is one of the only kind of bold elements in the space. These are usually just boxes that lack architectural detail and the furniture is quite plain. Remember to go for show stopping geometric prints in high contrast such as brown and white squares or another strong shape such as a polka dot.

You might not think about using this in a kid's room but it can really add a lot of sophistication to the space. You might want to use it as a way to just break up a typical pink babies room. You may run into difficulty when you are decorating a little boy's room. Often times these room can contain themes that can seem quite juvenile or colors like blue which can be quite predictable. Instead, you could try pairing it basically with a more strong chocolate brown. In fact brown could even be the entire theme in your room. It can be a very a moody and mysterious feeling color. Of course, this is really a staple for furniture color. It has really become one of the nice popular colors for upholstered furniture just because it is still neutral. Plus, it is a lot easier to clean and take care of that basic white furniture. Black furniture can seem quite masculine and heavy while still going with this kind of color really solves a lot of design dilemmas. However, because it is in so many homes you are really going to have to work to make sure that you just aren't getting the same typical sofa that everyone else's getting. This may mean that you spend a little bit more money to just invest in very high-end or quality pieces. In fact it can be very comfortable in a paisley print. Usually these paisley prints are very subtle. You might not even know that it's there at first. This can work with the Tuscan design style because it will incorporate a lot of different greens and terra-cotta tones. You can also mix and match one of these pieces whether it's a chair or a sofa in the solid colored fabrics for interest.
